Football's new richest club Newcastle United want to recruit Atletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier in the coming January window.

Newcastle coach Eddie Howe looks to have made a decision on the calibre of player that he wants in his side.

The Sun reported that the Magpies are willing to pay 30 million euros for the England international.

Will Newcastle land their man?

With Trippier having a stuttered start to the season with injuries and being kept out of the Atleti side due to Marcos Llorente's performances, there is a chance that the club would let him leave in January.

Currently out with a shoulder injury, Trippier will be out for a further few gameweeks as he returns to training.

The right back will bring experience and leadership to Newcastle should he sign and return to England for his club football.

A key figure for Gareth Southgate at England, he is seen as a likeable character in the dressing room and his footballing ability been seen on an international stage for England during recent European Championship and World Cup campaigns.
