Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu wants to more effective for the club this season.
The 26-year-old made 31 appearances for Newcastle last season before going into surgery to correct a knee injury amid inconsistent displays.
The Ghana international has been trying to impress in pre-season as he aims to stake a regular stake in Rafa Benitez's side this term.
The former FC Porot star has admitted he was average for the Toon Army last after being linked with a move to newly-promoted Huddersfield Town.
However, the Black Star is looking forward to kicking off the new campaign with United.
“This season I will be more effective, score more goals and give more assists," he said from the team hotel in Braga.
“This is what I believe.
“Honestly the fans will see a big difference from last season.”
Newcastle United take on Tottenham Hotspur in their English Premier League opener at St James Park on August 11.
