Laliga giants continue their recruitment of young players as they’ve completed a 1.2M deal for 18years old forward Lucas Roman from Ferro Carril.

Barcelona is set to bolster its youth ranks with the signing of 18-year-old Argentine winger Lucas Roman. According to Sport, the Catalan giant has secured Roman’s signature for a fee of €1.2m, beating out competition from Argentine giants Boca Juniors and River Plate.

Roman, who has already been called up to the Argentine under-20 national team, has impressed for Ferro Carril, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 27 appearances.

Former Barcelona youth coach Oscar Hernandez Romero praised the signing, describing Roman as “a very fast, skilful player who has a great shot from outside the area.”

The 18 years old forward  is expected to join up with Barcelona’s B team, Barca Atletic, in January in a bid to provide more firepower for Rafa Marquez’s side.

The signing follows the acquisition of Pablo Torre last summer from Racing Santander, indicating that the club’s management is committed to ensuring that young talent is being developed and integrated into the first team.
