Barcelona’s injury woes continue as midfielder Frenkie de Jong becomes the latest player to join their list of casualties. The Dutchman suffered a right hamstring injury, putting his participation in doubt for the crucial second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash against arch-rivals Real Madrid.

The club confirmed the news in an official statement, stating that de Jong’s recovery would determine his availability for the upcoming fixture. However, reports suggest that the 24-year-old could be out for up to two weeks, which would make him a major doubt for the high-stakes encounter.

Barcelona is already without the services of several key players, including defender Andreas Christensen, winger Ousmane Dembele, and rising star Pedri. The Blaugrana will hope that de Jong can recover in time to boost their chances of completing the task against Real Madrid.
