Carlos Alcaraz commented on his victory over Jan-Lennard Struff at the start of Wimbledon. The Spaniard won in five sets (4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4).
“I really enjoy playing at Wimbledon. To get a win in a match like this is really great for me.
I don’t feel pressure because I don’t think I’m the favorite in this tournament. But if I play well, of course, I’ll have a chance. But there are much more experienced competitors who are better on grass than me.
He also spoke about the 30 aces he made in his match against Struff.
“I didn’t expect to move as well as I did today. I played well and felt great. I don’t even know how I served so many aces. Probably the best match of my career in terms of serving. Those weapons helped me win today.”
