Chelsea Football Club’s impressive business in the January transfer window seems to have whetted their appetite for more, with reports emerging that the Blues are targeting Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.

The talented 24-year-old is reportedly a top priority signing for the Stamford Bridge outfit in the upcoming summer transfer window, but the move would come at a significant cost, with a fee in excess of £100m likely required to lure him away from Napoli.

Osimhen has been in electrifying form for the Serie A side this season, netting an impressive 25 goals in all competitions. His contributions have been instrumental in Napoli’s current position at the summit of the Italian top-flight and their progression to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Should Chelsea manage to secure Osimhen’s services, it would represent a significant coup for the London club.

However, the price tag attached to the striker could prove a stumbling block for the Blues, who will be mindful of financial fair play regulations, as well as the need to maintain a balanced and competitive squad.
