Transfer insider Dean Jones has revealed that Arsenal will initiate contact with West Ham United’s Declan Rice early in June as they attempt to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

West Ham sporting director speaks out on Declan Rice amid Arsenal and Chelsea links

Arsenal finished five points behind Premier League champions Manchester City and will be looking to fight for the title next season with a fresh improved squad. Manager Mikel Arteta will have the opportunity to strengthen his team in the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, the Gunners are internally discussing the possibility of signing Rice. West Ham are reportedly open to allowing their captain to leave if a bid of £120 million is made.

Speaking about the player’s potential move to the Emirates Stadium Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “We know that Arsenal are going to touch base early on in June to see what they can do with Declan Rice.

“While that’s going on, if Mount is available and Manchester United could potentially look to tie that up, it straightaway gives you a foot up for if Rice doesn’t sign for Arsenal, where he goes after that.”

Although Arsenal are currently leading the race for the England international’s signature, the player is focused on the Hammers’ upcoming Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina.

It has been revealed that Rice has already informed friends that he has played his final Premier League match for West Ham.
