Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag remains positive about David de Gea signing a new contract at Old Trafford.
The 32-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has been with United since 2011, with his contract set to expire on June 30.
The negotiations for a new deal have been ongoing, with the aim of reducing De Gea’s current weekly salary of £375,000. However, there is a possibility that the final Premier League game against Fulham could mark his last appearance at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, Ten Hag expresses confidence that an agreement will be reached between the two parties, allowing De Gea to continue his career with the Red Devils.
“I already said it last time so I’m repeating myself, we want David de Gea to stay and he wants to stay. We will find a way of understanding,” the manager said after the Spanish goalkeeper received the Golden Glove award for the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season.
