Reports indicate that German national team manager Hansi Flick was recently seen at Stamford Bridge, fueling speculation amid mounting pressure on Brighton & Hove Albion’s Graham Potter

Hansi Flick, the German national team manager, was observed in the stands at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea faced off against Fulham in a goalless draw. The spotlight has been shining brightly on Graham Potter, Chelsea’s manager, who has struggled to turn around the team’s fortunes since being appointed in September, following Thomas Tuchel’s sacking.

Potter’s record stands at 9 wins and 7 losses in his first 22 games, leaving Chelsea currently in 9th place in the Premier League, ten points behind the top four and with only one win this year.

The January transfer window saw Chelsea spend over £320 million on nine new players, including Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Enzo Fernandez, adding to the eight players brought in last summer. Results are expected to justify this massive spending.

Amidst the poor form and lackluster results, rumors have started to circulate in the media about a potential new manager, Hansi Flick, taking over for Potter if he is sacked.

The Chelsea board has promised Potter that he has time beyond this season to build his own team, but with Flick’s future as Germany boss in question, the speculation is only growing.

This is not the first time Flick has been spotted watching Chelsea, as he previously watched the team lose 1-0 to Manchester City last season, when several German internationals were playing. This time, however, there was only one German international, Kai Havertz, leading some to believe that Flick’s primary reason for visiting was to meet with Chelsea’s new American owner, Todd Boehly.

Flick boasts an impressive resume, having won two Bundesliga titles, the Champions League, the DFB-Pokal, and the FIFA Club World Cup during his career.

Germany’s underwhelming performance at the Qatar World Cup has put Flick’s position as national team manager in jeopardy, potentially making him available for a return to club football, specifically at Chelsea.
