Journalist Pete O’Rourke believes that Aston Villa would face a massive injury boost if Diego Carlos returns before the end of the season.
The Brazilian made a summer move to Aston Villa in 2022 after a successful three-year spell in Sevilla.
Carlos managed to have two appearances in the Claret and Blue shirt as the 29-year-old picked a long-term injury during Villa’s 2 – 1 win over Everton in August. Due to an underwent surgery, the defender has been on the sidelines for three months now and is expected to return to action later this season.

“It would be a huge boost. He’s been a big miss for Aston Villa. I think his injury was a contributing factor to Villa’s poor form at the start of the season.
“He was such a big, marquee signing for the club in the summer. They beat a number of top clubs to his signature so to lose him so early to a serious injury was a blow to Aston Villa.”
