Premier League have announced that Andy Madley will be the centre referee for the Manchester City vs Southampton clash at the Etihad this weekend.

Man City will look to build on the massive win they recorded against Manchester United over the weekend when they host Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side on Sunday.

City trounced United 6-3 at home following two hat-tricks from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland. The Manchester derby was officiated by Michael Oliver, who was relatively decent on his decisions.

Match Officials

Referee: Andy Madley

Linesmen: Derek Eaton, Steve Meredith

Manchester City Team News

Man City recorded one injury after their win against Manchester United. Kyle Walker has suffered a muscular injury and is likely to miss the Southampton clash. Man City welcomed Americ Laporte back from a long-term injury and the France star came on as a second half substitute.

Rodri missed the Manchester derby but he’s in contention to be fit for the Southampton clash. John Stones missed the clash as well following an injury he suffered during England’s 3-3 draw against Germany last week and is a doubt for the tie. Kalvin Philips is still out injured with a shoulder injury and is expected to miss this weekend’s tie. Ruben Dias also missed the derby.

Pep Guardiola’s side will be in action tonight in the Champions League and that could give a change to the team news above.

Predictions

Manchester City to win

Pep Guardiola will look to record his third Premier League win in a row, following massive victories over Wolves, before the international break, and Manchester United last weekend. Southampton won’t prove too stubborn unlike City’s previous games.

Manchester City to win

Over 2.5 goals

Manchester City have scored nine goals in their last two Premier League games and are even planning on scoring more goals. Southampton conceded four goals in their last three league matches. This game has goals written all over it, although this fixture has always been a burden for Man City, with previous encounters ending with less than three goals per game.

Over 2.5 goals

Erling Haaland to Score YES

Haaland breathes goals. He’s scored loads of goals, including two hat-tricks against Crystal Palace and Manchester United. If the game has a goal in it, it surely will be scored by the Norway international.

Erling Haaland to score
