Micah Richards believes that Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea will provide a closer competition to Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.
Manchester City secured the league title with a five-point lead over United, who finished 14 points behind. Last season, City narrowly edged out Liverpool by a single point for the title, with a 35-point gap separating them.
Richards and fellow Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher anticipate Liverpool to bounce back strongly after a disappointing fifth-place finish this season, with Carragher suggesting that they will challenge City alongside United.
Richards supports this view and adds his own suggestions, saying: “I think Arsenal as well, I don’t think Arsenal are done. I’m going to bring Arsenal into it as well.
I think they will be in the top-four and maybe challenging for even more with the players they’ve got. They need a striker but if they get that sorted I think Chelsea will be challenging big next season. These players are only going to get better.”
