The legendary F1 race at Spa-Francorchamps could disappear from the 2023 championship calendar.
Last weekend in Montreal, team bosses heard from Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali the news that the schedule could further increase to a record 24 races next year. However, 16 of those 24 races will be reserved for Grand Prix outside Europe as the championship explores new markets in the United States and even in Africa.
The iconic Belgian Grand Prix venue at Spa could be left without a venue as the promoters have yet to reach a new agreement with Formula 1.
“It’s very simple. No money, no game. If they have money, we go there. If we don’t have the money, we don’t go there,” said Alfa Tauri boss Franz Tost.
