Novak Djokovic: Told Federer he needs to come back

I told him that he was loved by a huge number of people, that he was very warmly welcomed. And that he needs to come back for us to play one more time – he said so himself.

We all saw what was going on when he came out on the court. Everyone jumped to their feet, showing love and respect for him. And he’s a legend in every sense of the word.

Of course, he was one of my main opponents as his career went on. It’s strange to see him missing out on tournaments now. For the last few years, he’s had injury problems. And he himself said it was strange to see him at Wimbledon in a different role.

It’s very important for tennis to have someone like that playing as much as possible because it gets a lot of attention and benefits all of us.
