Arsenal challenged for the Premier League title for most of the season but faltered towards the end, allowing Manchester City to reclaim the crown.

Former Manchester United man has emphasized that Arsenal need significant strengthening in the transfer market, not just with marquee signings but also with better squad players.

Mikel Arteta reportedly considers Rice as his top target to reinforce the midfield for the upcoming season.

Ferdinand, a big admirer of the England international, shared his thoughts on the potential transfer and expressed his belief that Rice is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

“Declan Rice does improve your starting XI, no doubt for me, if you do go and get him,” he said, via Metro UK.

“I think Rice, as part of your culture driving, as having somebody that wants to improve, that can improve others, that gets squads together, he’s a real team player.”
