Haas pilot Mick Schumacher has said he will be ready to replace one of the drivers of the Ferrari this season if there is a need for it.
Schumacher, as a member of Ferrari’s youth academy, is one of the Italian team’s reserves. Should Charles Leclerc or Carlos Sainz be forced to miss a Grand Prix during the season for whatever reason, Ferrari could in theory call on either Schumacher, Robert Shwartzman, or Antonio Giovinazzi to replace him.
Yes, of course, I’m ready for that. Our cars (Ferrari and Haas) are pretty similar in general. I actually grew up with Ferrari, we’ve been working since 2019. I think I understand very well how all the racing procedures work. So yes, I would be glad to have the opportunity to prove myself and show Ferrari what I’m worth, said Schumacher.
