Lindahl

Lindahl was priced as the favourite for a match against Andrew Corbitt at the Toowoomba Futures in 2013. It is alleged that before the match he approached Corbitt and offered him $500 to purposely lose.

Corbitt turned down the offer and reported Lindahl to officials. Local bookmakers revealed that this match had attracted unusual activity, and that the betting turnover was more than $3,000, by far exceeding the usual turnover for such a match – a few hundred dollars. Following this discovery the police were alerted.

During the investigation, police intercepted a phone call from Lindahl to his friend Matthew Fox. The tennis player asked if Fox had deleted all that could compromise him. Lindahl also admitted he had fixed matches before and said he would be a fool not to.

The Judge said she believed Lindahl, whose career highest ranking was 187 in 2010, was remorseful for what he did and would never fix a match again.
