Khabib Nurmagomedov
Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov (born 20 September 1988) is a Russian former professional mixed martial artist. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in mixed martial arts (MMA) history. He notably competed in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is the longest-reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, having held the title since April 2018. With 29 wins and no losses, he retired with an undefeated record.
Pettis disagrees with the opinion that the Russian, who ended his career undefeated, is the best lightweight in UFC history. “It’s hard for me to call Khabib the greatest lightweight because he hasn’t fought everyone. He won the title in a fight with Al Iaquinta. Iaquinta wasn’t even in the rankings then, so you know. Then he fought some good guys and retired. Khabib is definitely one of the best lightweights, but I find it hard to call him the greatest when there are guys like B.J. Penn. Anthony Pettis doesn’t view Khabib Nurmagomedov as the lightweight GOAT 🐐 #UFC…
Of course, Dane White, Hunter Campbell, and everyone else was a bit upset, they were trying to show it. I don’t think they were upset though. It was only me who was upset. When I went into the locker room, my belt wasn’t there. And I was like, “Where’s my title?” Dana said: “Bro, relax, please, I’ll get it for you, Khabib said. “I talked to the trainer yesterday. Asked him if there was a chance to see Cain in prison. We can do that in Russia, but I don’t know how things are in the U.S. in that regard. I also don’t know the local laws, but I really want to see him. I will be in San Jose in a couple of days and I want to go see him. Want to shake his hand to give him some positive energy,” TMZ quoted Khabib as saying. Recall, that Velasquez was arrested on February 28. He was charged with attempted murder. Cain…
“Frankly, this is the first time since we started communicating that Dana hasn’t responded to me. I texted him, ‘Hey, nobody else should fight for the title. It should be Islam.” I texted him something like that, but I didn’t get a reply. I think Dana was busy. This is the first time this has happened, but it’s normal. Everybody makes mistakes. He’ll come back stronger,” ESPN MMA quoted Nurmagomedov as saying. Makhachev has 22 wins and one loss in mixed martial arts under his belt. Oliveira has 33 wins and eight losses in MMA on his record. Could a…
“Every fight he falls a couple of times. In the last fight, how many times did he fall – two or three? There are questions to this. Nobody ever touched my face. People can’t compare me to him, he was knocked into the UFC eight times. Please stop with these comparisons. When he knocked with Jim Miller, Paul Felder, Max Holloway, Anthony Pettis, it was Charles Oliveira knocking, not Khabib. If he wants to be considered the greatest lightweight, he has to beat Islam, Beneil, a couple of other guys, and then we’ll talk. He needs to make weight and…
Oliveira beat Dustin Poirier 61 seconds faster than Khabib, that’s true. Charles beat Justin Gaethje four minutes faster than Khabib. But I rewatched these fights and came to the conclusion that Khabib beat these guys easier than Oliveira. Tell me am I a jerk? I have just announced figures that never lie, and I myself argue with this statement. Moreover, I am sure that you have not heard from anyone what I have just said. Did you know about this fun fact that Oliveira beat Poirier 61 seconds faster than Khabib and he beat Gaethje four minutes faster? But still,…
After negotiations with Khabib, White said that the champion can return to fighting assuming he is impressed by the performances of potential opponents at the upcoming UFC 257 tournament. In particular, he is going to watch the McGregor-Poirier and Chandler-Hooker fights. Valery Sharifulin/TASS Khabib also does not exclude the possibility of a fight against Charles Oliveira. A month ago, the Brazilian dealt with Tony Ferguson, showing an incredible level of stamina and strength. Also, don’t forget about Khabib’s plans to fight with veteran Georges Saint-Pierre. Bookmakers believe that the next fight of the Eagle may take place in 2021, and…
