Defender Nicholas Opoku and his Udinese teammates have been placed under a training retreat after the 4-0 defeat to Sampdoria on Saturday in the Serie A.
The player have been denied their two-day rest and are expected to start training today.
Opoku was handed a starting role but replaced in the 77th minute as the Friulani were flattened at Marassi by two Fabio Quagliarella penalties, plus goals by Karol Linetty and Manolo Gabbiadini.
''I won’t say anything about the two refereeing incidents that changed the course of the game. Samp are strong, but until the first penalty, they hadn’t really managed a shot on goal,'' said director of sport Daniele Pradè.
''It’s all well and good having VAR, but it needs to be used properly. Everything seems to be going against us at the moment.
''Having said that, the performance was not up to the required standard. This is why we’ve annulled the two days off and from tomorrow the team will be working in a training retreat.''
