Nicholas Opoku's future at Amiens to be affected by cancellation of French League

Ghana defender Nicholas Opoku's future at French side Amiens could be dealt a huge blow after the cancellation of the Ligue I.

The defender joined Amiens in the January transfer window from Italian outfit Udinese for €500,000, with the option of making the move a permanent one for €5 million.

Amongst the condition for a permanent move was if the player helped the club survive relegation, a deal will be struck to see him seal his future in France.

However, on Tuesday France Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced the 2019-20 sporting season was over as he revealed plans to ease the country's coronavirus lockdown on 11 May.

Udinese and Amiens are expected to meet for new terms to be decided or the Ghanaian will return to Italy, where football could return in June.

Opoku made seven appearance for Amiens since joining the club in the winter transfer window.
