Chief Executive Officer of DataBank Kojo Addae-Mensah says the Normalisation Committee made a mistake by calling off the proposed Special Competition, insisting Division One clubs should have been allowed to participate in the competition.

The proposed Special Competition aimed at engaging Ghanaian clubs whilst the reformation of Ghana football takes shape by the Normalisation Committee was cancelled on Monday after both parties failed to come to an agreement on three consecutive times.

According to Kojo Addae Mensah, the Division One clubs showed commitment to participate in the tournament hence should have been given the green light to participate in the competition instead of cancelling it entirely.

“Today is a very sad day for Ghana football. I don’t understand what’s going on," he stated on Happy FM.

"This is not our Ghana football, I'm very sad about the situation. The Normalisation Committee should not have cancelled the Special Competition. They should gone ahead and play the competition with the Division One clubs and forgo the elite clubs."
