Norwich City chase Palermo midfielder

Palermo midfielder Oscar Hiljemark has become a transfer target for English club Norwich City, who are currently two points above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

City scout Leonardo Masieri attended Palermo’s 1-1 draw against Carpi at the Stadio Alberto Braglia in Modena on Saturday to watch the 23-year-old and has been keeping an eye on him for the last few weeks.

According to Calciomercato.it, Norwich City want to bring the player into Alex Neil’s squad before the transfer window closes.

Even if they do not sign the Swedish international now, the Canaries are reportedly keen to try again in the summer.

Hijlemark arrived from Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven in the previous summer transfer window after he captained Sweden to victory in the 2015 European U-21 Championship.

So far he has scored four goals and just as many assists in 22 Serie A games for the Rosanero.
