Nouveau-riche Legon Cities set to make move for Shafiu Mumuni

Mega rich Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities are interested in former Ashantigold forward Shafiu Mumuni.

The Accra based club are eager to sign the deadly striker as they beef their squad for the return of the Ghana Premier League.

According to information gathered by GHANASoccernet.com, negotiations will soon commence between the striker's representatives and the club with the hopes of tying him down to a contract.

Mumuni's contract with the Miners expired this year and was close to joining Romanian giants FC Cluj, but the outbreak of COVID-19 stalled the move.

Ashantigold, who will represent Ghana in Africa want to re-sign the 25-year old, as they prepare for the CAF Confederation Cup.

But the player is yet to make a decision over his future with a dream move abroad still in his plans.

Legon Cities were the least scoring team in the Ghana Premier League before the season was cancelled because of COVID-19.

The Ghana Football Association has identified the second week of October as the time for the return of football, but that will be subjected to a government approval.
