Nti-Boakye dismisses reports he wants to reject Kotoko's captaincy

Striker Kofi Nti-Boakye has dismissed speculations he has rejected the captaincy at Asante Kotoko.

The 25-year-old has assumed leadership of the team on provisional basis following the decision of Isaac Amoako to relinquish the armband at the beginning of the season.

There have however been rumours the ex Heart of Lions hitman wants to cede the captaincy.

But Nti-Boakye says these reports are palpably false.

“All the rumours making rounds about the captaincy are false,” he told Angel FM.

“I don’t know where these reports are coming from because I have not even conceived the idea of relinquishing the responsibility.

“I believe it is people with bad intentions that will circulate such news but I want to assure that it has not even crossed my mind.”

Nti-Boakye has scored three times so far this season.
