Obed Ansah, Mends make Hearts return

Hearts of Oak have confirmed the return of midfielder Obed Ansah.

The 26-year-old left the club in 2011 after his three year deal expired.

Ansah refused to resign for the Phobians with hints of more lucrative deals elsewhere.

However after staying inactive for close to two years and with a recent botched move to Asante Kotoko, the ex Ghana youth international has rejoined the Accra-based club.

This was confirmed by Hearts’ Public Relations Officer Muheeb Saeed on Accra-based Hot FM.

Saeed also revealed the return of midfielder Esme Mends from a lengthy injury layoff.

“In midfield we fortunately have Obed Ansah and Esme Mends,” he said.

The return of the duo comes as a massive boost to the Phobians who have had a stuttering campaign so far in the top flight.

The side’s poor performance led to the dismissal of coach CK Akunnor who was replaced by David Duncan.
