Asante Kotoko defender Joseph Ochaya has paid glowing tribute to the supporters of the club.

The Ugandan import scored his debut goal for the champions in the 2-0 win over Berekum Arsenals on Sunday.

Ochaya who was bought in the off-season from Kampala City Council is over the moon after scoring his first goal but took cognizance of the solid affinity the fans have for the Porcupine Warriors.

“I felt so good and so excited and since it was my first goal I will make sure I make it to the top,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“They (fans) are so patriotic, they love their team so much and that support they do to the club is equally good.

“They shouldn’t give up since that support gives the players confidence on how you should play even during difficulties.

“I thank them so much for the care and support they give to the club.”

Ochaya played for the Uganda U-20 team that failed to reach the African Youth Championships after suffering elimination at the hands of Ghana.
