Aspiring Ghana Football Association president Vincent Sowah-Odotei is disappointed with the decision of legend Abedi Ayew Pele to withdraw from the presidential race.

Pele told GHANAsoccernet.com exclusively on Monday that he will not stand the elections later this year.

Odotei, Chief Executive of Ghana Premier Legaue side King Faisal, claims his inclusion would have made the race more exciting.

"I'm disappointed with the latest turn of event because we need people like Abedi Pele who has played the game to international to be at the FA level. When you look at the player welfare we needed him to make a huge impact," Odotei told Accra-based Citi FM.

"We need people who have been there, seen it and done and Abedi clearly fit the bill. The race will be evenly contested if he was part of the persons who will contest for the position.”

With the withdrawal of Abedi, there are many who believe Nyantakyi will have an easy ride to be elected for a second term in office

The Ex-Heart of Oak Chief Executive Officer failed to record a single vote last year when he challenged Nyantakyi.

Meanwhile Fifa management consultant Neil Armstrong Mortabge is the latest personality to have shockingly announced his intentions to contest for the post.
