Asante Kotoko midfielder Stephen Oduro wants to win the Caf Champions League before he calls time on his career.

The 29-year-old was reported to be keen to seek away from the club for lack of playing time last season.

But the Real Tamale United enforcer has reiterated his commitment to the Kumasi-based club and says he will relish the chance to win Africa’s elite inter-club competition next season.

“It is not true that I am retiring, it’s not true at all. This is not the first time I’ve won the league so it’s nothing new,” Oduro said

“I’ve not made up my mind when I will retire so there’s no truth in the rumuor that I’m quitting Kotoko.

“Now my focus is on Africa. I want to win the Champions League trophy for Kotoko so I’m definitely looking forward and working very hard towards it.

“We have a good squad and I don’t think we need that many players even though one or two good additions won’t be bad.

“The unity that propelled us to win the league should be maintained with motivation and with the massive support we enjoyed from management; we will get even stronger,”

Oduro is seen as a Kotoko legend having played for the club for close to a decade with unrivalled commitment.
