Published on: 26 March 2020

Barcelona have announced that they will take measures to minimise the economic impact after the crisis caused by the coronavirus.

Among the measures, is the reduction of salaries for both athletes and employees.

Barca board of directors have discussed the measures to be applied to minimise the economic impact that the coronavirus crisis is causing on the activity.

Basically it is a reduction of the working day, imposed by the circumstances and the protection measures carried out, and, as a consequence, the proportional reduction of the remuneration provided for in the respective contracts.

According to earlier reports from MD and Sport, the proportional reduction could be 70% for the players.

The normal workers of the club will be fired until the end of coronavirus in Catalonia.

Measures that Barcelona wants to implement scrupulously follow the formal labour regulations, under the criteria of proportionality, and above all fairness, and with the sole objective of resuming the activity of the club as soon as possible.
