OFFICIAL: Ex-Hamburg left-back Sakai tested positive for coronavirus

Vissel Kobe defender Gotoku Sakai has tested positive for coronavirus.

The club's statement said the player had a fever (body temperature 38.0 ℃) at midnight on March 25, and he had mild headache, no smell on March 28.

Now, he has become the first player to be infected in the Japanese league.

Gotoku Sakai was a player for the Japanese national team and played at German's side Stuttgart and Hamburger from 2011 to 2018.
