Ghana international Samuel Tetteh has undergone medical at Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg ahead of a proposed move, GHANASOCCERNET.COM can confirm.

The 19-year-old is expected to sign a three-year-contract for Salzburg who sold Ghana youth midfielder David Atanga to German Bundesliga II side Heidenheim this week.

WAFA, the Ghana Premier League side who own the youngster, are expected to earn  almost $800,000 from the deal.

Tetteh, who played for Ghana's U20 side at the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup, was being courted by a number of clubs including Swedish side Malmo FF.

The West African Football Academy player tried out with the former Swedish champions in March but the Sky Blues failed to lock him down.

Salzburg who still have Ghanaian trio of Lawrence Ati--Zigi, Raphael Dwamena and Isaac Vorsah believe the young winger possesses what it takes to excel in both domestic and continental campaigns.

Manager Javier Gracia is expected to include Tetteh in his squad for Europe.

Ghana coach Avram Grant has a string of call-ups to Tetteh following his exploits with Ghana's Black Satellites and WAFA in the Ghanaian top-flight.

He made his senior debut for Ghana in September 2015, having come off the bench to replace TP Mazembe winger Solomon Asante during an international friendly against Congo Brazzaville.

He turns 20 next month.

He replaces David Atanga at the club. Atanga made a handful of appearances for Salzburg last season but he scored 10 league goals for Salzburg's second string side Liefering in the Austrian second-tier.
