Great Olympics have commenced talks with Al Merriekh over the settlement of an outstanding transfer fee for the loan signing of Francis Coffie.

The relegated Ghana Premier League club had threaten to hurl the Sudanese giants to FIFA for their failure to pay up an agreed amount for the signing of the skillful winger two seasons ago.

Coffie signed on a one-year loan deal at Al Merreikh but extended the loan agreement by a further year earlier this month.

Al Merreikh has however not paid the agreed transfer amount to Great Olympics.

But talks are underway between the two clubs towards reaching an amicable settlement.

“It is true we are in talks with the Sudanese club and we hope to reach an agreement soon,” Olympics director Fred Pappoe told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Coffie helped them the Red Devils to win the Sudanese Premier League in his first stint with the club while also playing his part as the side reached the semi-final of the CAF Champions League
