Kuala Lumpur: Oman will play a friendly against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on August 31, it has been announced.

The Aviva Park clash will be the third time in four years that the Omanis have faced Ireland, with the record books showing a 4-1 defeat in 2012, as well as a 2-0 loss two years later (pictured above).

Coached by former Real Madrid boss Juan Ramon Lopez Caro, Oman are through to third round of qualifying for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup after finishing second in Group D behind Iran during the second phase of qualifiers.
