1985: the first Italian derby in the european Cups was played in "Champions League" in 1985 between Hellas Verona and Juventus: the first leg, at the “Bentegodi” stadium, ended 0-0. Italy had two club in the competition because Juventus won the previous year the Cup against Liverpool, while Hellas Verona won the Championship.

1988: Napoli show against Galeone's Pescara with a victory 8-2. All the members of the fantastic forward's trio scored a gol: Carnevale realized an hat-trick, a brace for Careca and Maradona and one goal for Alemao. For the visiting team one of the two goals was scored by Gian Piero Gasperini, actual coach of Atalanta.

2011-2016: days of hat-trick. During Lecce-Milan 3-4 in 2011 Kevin Prince Boateng signed with an hat-trick the comeback of Milan vs Lecce after the host team closed the first half ahead 3 - 0; in 2016 Nikola Kalinic, now at Hellas Verona, scored three goal in the Fiorentina's success vs. Cagliari.
