Opeele had resisted attempts to coach several top-flight sides but has been moved by the vision to build a squad from scracth.

"I like challenges. I have been out of coaching for some time now and I think I have done a lot at the high level but I need a new challenge," Opeele told MTNFootball.com.

"The challenge is to roll up my sleeves and go to the trenches to discover new players and new talents for the country.

"The owners of First Capital United are motivated to do something and I share in their vision. That's why I have taken this new task having coached at the high level."

First Capital United  is owned by a Ghanaian bank First Capital United who are keen on making a foray into the football industry to boost their profile in the country.

Opeele has coached some of the top clubs in Ghana including giants Asante Kotoko.
