Opeele launches scathing attack on Ghana performance

Ghana’s version of Jose Mourinho, Isaac 'Opeele' Boateng, has launched a scathing attack on the Black Stars at the weekend when they played the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan insisting they were “shapeless”.

The World Cup quarter finalists were shockingly held to a goalless draw by the Nile Crocodiles in Kumasi which prompted swift diagnoses from the highly-respected young tactician.

Opeele pulled no punches in describing the way the Black Stars played against one of the lowly ranked countries in World Cup football when Ghana is among the top 20.

The coach, who is famed for rescuing struggling sides in the country and astute analysis of the game, described the performance of the team as shapeless, disorganized, lacked philosophy and any tactical formation.

"This was evident in the way the team played on the field and how they organized themselves. They were just tactically indiscipline," Opeele stated.

Opeele reignited the debate of the competence of a local coach for the Black Stars insisting giving the job to a local gaffer would be a disastrous gamble.

"The Black Stars job is not for experimental purposes but a serious one that must be managed effectively,” Opeele said

"If we attempt to experiment with the Black Stars, a time will come when the team will collapse and the glories attained will diminish.”

He noted that those advocating local coaches were pushing that agenda for their personal gains adding that it would be a 'sure bet' for disaster for the national team.

Opeele Boateng urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) not to gamble with the future of the Black Stars, rather it should ensure that the best coach was appointed for the team.
