Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Osei Palmer, has praised the GFA's decision to appoint Winfried Schäfer as the new technical advisor of the Black Stars.
Schäfer, a seasoned tactician with a proven track record, guided Cameroon to victory in the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations.
His appointment aims to bolster the technical team headed by Otto Addo, following the senior national team's six-match winless run in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
"The technical direction of the team has changed, but Winfried Schäfer is a good coach," Palmer said in an interview with Sporty FM.
"Even during our time, we had plans to bring him on board. A technically good coach remains technically good."
With Schäfer on board, Ghana will look to turn their fortunes around in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March against Chad and Madagascar.
