Ghana FA Technical head Francis Oti Akenteng has explained Maxwell Konadu's decision not to include any Hasaacas player in his squad for the upcoming Wafu Zonal tournament.

The CAF Technical Instructor says the only player in the returnees' squad who qualifies for call-up into the team holds a Togolese passport.

All 15 out of the 16 Ghana Premier League clubs have their players in the squad and this drew criticism from the Ghanaian football circle and Hasaacas officials.

But Oti Akenteng reveals Maxwell Konadu watched defender Amouzou Renard and decided to include him in his squad only to find out he holds a Togolese passport.

"I watched them [Hasaacas] on a couple of occasions and I think they have fine players who could make the squad and I fingered one defender. So I called Maxwell over the issue and he explained the player is not a Ghanaian and therefore he is disqualified for playing for Ghana," he said.

A thirty-man squad is in Kumasi preparing for the mini tournament.
