Paa Kwesi Fabin silences critics

Paa Kwesi Fabin believes he has silenced his critics after guiding Wassaman United to earn a historic Premier League berth with one match to spare in the promotional play-offs.

Fabian was sacked by giants Hearts of Oak last season following strings of unimpressive performances.

Before that, he was released by Asante Kotoko with six matches left to the end of the 2009/2010 season.

Fabin's side posted a comprehensive 3-1 win over Deportivo at the Tema Park to seal their passage with six points from two matches.

Wasaaman have a better head-to head record over second-placed Real Tarkwa United-who have three points-a team they defeat in their opener.

The former Premier League Coach of the Year is excited to have achieved the feat and keen to get back to top-flight coaching.

"A lot happened during last season for me and I'm happy with this result to show that we’re capable of winning," Fabian said.

"I don’t want to go into the past and what happened at Hearts of Oak and all that. What is important is that we have achieved the feat and I'm happy for the fans.

"I am not concern about the boardroom wrangling. Our job is on the pitch and we are done with it. We just need to finish it off in our last game on Saturday."

Tarkwa United has lodged a protest against Wassaman for wearing unapproved strips for their opener played at the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday.
