Palermo president sings Afriyie Acquah praise

Published on: 22 July 2010

Ghana starlet Afriyie Acquah has earned the respect of Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini following his impressive pre-season form in Austria.

The 18-year-old midfielder was promoted to the Palermo first team this season and has won the heart of head coach Delio Rossi with his work ethic.

"He told me to keep up the good work and wants me to get to the top. He is impressed with my play because I am new in the first team. I'm happy and want to improve upon that," Acquah told

The former DC United player completed a four-year deal with the Serie A outfit in February this year.

He was expected to join the Ghana Under-20 team for this weekend's African youth championship qualifier but his team refused to release him.

Yahuza Musah, I thought you wanted the GFA not to invite the foreign-based players for the Namibia match. Now it appears you have problem with Palermo not releasing our player for the match. It looks like you go where the wind blows. I wonder if you really know what you have been saying. An advice:do not follow blindly what people say on this forum. Most have personal agendas and involved in vendettas against the certain individuals and groups and are using this website as a channel to indulge in a hate campaign against them. Be careful you are not misled by a blind person. He will lead you astray.

The clubs are under no obligation to release these players because the match against Namibia is not a FIFA sanctioned match thus the GFA is helpless. All those calling for GFA to do something ,i think you will take a clue from this.
