Ghana starlet Afriyie Acquah has earned the respect of Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini following his impressive pre-season form in Austria.

The 18-year-old midfielder was promoted to the Palermo first team this season and has won the heart of head coach Delio Rossi with his work ethic.

"He told me to keep up the good work and wants me to get to the top. He is impressed with my play because I am new in the first team. I'm happy and want to improve upon that," Acquah told Ghanasoccernet.com

The former DC United player completed a four-year deal with the Serie A outfit in February this year.

He was expected to join the Ghana Under-20 team for this weekend's African youth championship qualifier but his team refused to release him.
