Palermo reinstate Iachini as coach

Published on: 15 February 2016

The drama surrounding Palermo‘s bench continues after a surprise announcement was made, confirming that Giuseppe Iachini has been reinstated as coach just three months after having been fired.

Iachini will replace Giovanni Bosi who became the sixth coach of the season following the departure of Guillermo Barros Schelotto.

“Palermo announces that it has reinstated Giuseppe Iachini as coach of the first team and his entire staff,” a statement read on Palermo’s official website.

“The club thanks the willingness shown by the head of the youth sector Dario Baccin and the coach of the Primavera, Giovanni Bosi, in this difficult time of transition.”

Prior to his dismissal earlier in the season, Iachini stood as the Rosanero’s longest serving coach, having joined the club in 2013 before guiding them to a Serie B title.

The Sicilians currently sit in 15th place in the table with just 26 points to their name.
