Palermo reject AC Milan approach for in-demand playmaker

AC Milan have seen a €15 million offer for Palermo‘s attacking midfielder Franco Vazquez turned down by the Rosanero.

The Argentina-born Italy international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Sicilian side, with the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza consistently appearing to be the most probable destination for the player.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri’s €15m offer was turned down by Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, who requested a fee closer to the €25m mark.

Vazquez, who moved to Sicily in 2012, has a contract at the Stadio Renzo Barbera which runs until June 2019.

In 109 appearances for Palermo, Vazquez has found the net on 22 occasions, while also contributing a further 22 assists.

Despite the Rosanero struggling during the 2015-16 season, the 27-year-old scored eight goals and provided seven assists in his 36 appearances.
