Palmer vs GFA: ExCo member Anim Addo not happy with CAS postponing ruling again

Published on: 06 August 2020

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Samuel Anim Addo has not welcomed the decision by Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to postpone the ruling of the case between his outfit and the Wilfred Osei Kwaku, popularly known as Palmer.

For the second time, CAS announced the postponement of the ruling of the case which started last year October.

They were scheduled to announce the verdict on Tuesday, August 4 after an initial postponement from July 17.

However, in a spectacular twist of event, the global sports court has for the second time, deferred the verdict to Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

And according to Anim Addo, the continuous postponement of the ruling is worrying and breeding unnecessary tension.

"I think CAS shouldn’t have made this issue this tensed. I think it is a normal thing in football," Anim Addo reacted on Citi TV.

"If someone thinks he has not been treated fairly, he or she takes it to the appropriate quarters to be addressed.

"So I think CAS should’ve brought out the verdict so everyone will know their smoothness level. We have to know the verdict so we move from there. I don’t think this is an issue at all." he added.

The case has been sitting at CAS for more than 10 months. Palmer is seeking to overturn last year's Ghana FA Presidential election after being disqualified.
