Out-of-favour winger Bernard Dong Bortey wants to gatecrash Ghana’s squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil insisting he’s not a finished product yet.
Bortey, 31, currently plays for Equatorial Guinea side Panthers FC after leaving Ghanaian side Aduana Stars at the end of last season.
The ex-Hearts of Oak talisman is confident of making the country World Cup squad due to what he claimed is his fine performances for his new side.
“I am a footballer and I will want to play for Ghana again when the opportunity comes,†Bortey was quoted by Allsports.com.gh.
“I have targeted Brazil and if the chance and my country call me I will grab that chance with my all, because I played with most of the guys who are with the team now.â€
“I am not finished yet. I was in Ghana playing for Aduana Stars, but due to some problems I decided to move on. Fortunately, I got a club Panthers FC in Equatorial Guinea I’m their darling boy and it’s not by any chance, is because am playing week and week out and am doing well.â€
“I have played almost every week since I moved from Ghana and my performance has caught the eyes of many of the clubs who are even chasing me for my services.â€
Bortey has scored nine times in 27 international appearances for the West African country.
