Pantic: My dream is to coach Atletico Madrid

Published on: 01 April 2020

Milinko Pantic has expressed his desire to take charge of Atletico Madrid one day.

The Serbian spent three successful years playing for Los Rojiblancos during the 1990s and has also had a coaching role in the club's academy before.

"My big dream remains intact: coaching Atletico Madrid," Pantic told The Coaches' Voice.

"I'm sure that that moment will arrive.

"I'm a very ambitious person that, sooner or later, ends up getting what he wants."

Pantic played alongside current boss Diego Simeone during his time at the Estadio Vicente Calderon and admitted that he didn't see the Argentine's success in the dugout coming.

"[He was] a top competitor, always with a winning mentality," he said.

"If you'd have asked me back then if I saw him becoming a coach, I'd be lying if I said yes.

"I saw nothing in him, but also [nothing] in lots of other teammates who are also [coaches], like Jose Francisco Molina, Santi Denia, Juan Vizcaino or Roberto Fresnedoso.

"Like everyone, Simeone did his job perfectly [as a player], and he's doing that now as a coach.

"His results speak for themselves."
