Pantsil escapes Fulham rap over Facebook

John Pantsil has escaped a rap on the knuckles for a Facebook message last week as his message was seen by some as his farewell to Fulham fans after being dropped.

Boss Mark Hughes waved away the posting as that of an 'emotional guy' and one that was 'misinterpreted' by those who read it.

The Ghanaian World Cup defender was dropped for the game at Blackburn on last week, and was forced to warm the bench for the 2-0 defeat at Stoke on Tuesday and was not even among the team over the weekend.

But boss Mark Hughes revealed he hadn't given Pantsil grief for publicly throwing his toys out of the pram.

The manager said: "He (Pantsil) is an emotional guy, as everyone who knows him can testify. I didn't pull him up on it though, and I think he was just a bit frustrated.

"An opinion about players posting messages on Facebook or Twitter? I don't really have one - but I would like them all to be mindful of what they write that's posted in the public domain."
