Paqueta asks to be left out of AC Milan squad

Published on: 24 January 2020

AC Milan face Brescia on Friday night and Lucas Paqueta has asked the club not to call him up for the fixture.

The Brazilian is unhappy at the club and doesn’t feel like being part of the squad in the midst of uncertainty over his future with Milan.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Paqueta has been feeling under the weather since last Sunday and underwent medical checks and the tests confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the player.

Paqueta’s agent was seen visiting Milan headquarters to try iron out some issues and there have been offers for him. Pioli however, wants to keep the issues to a minimum for the good of the club and to have everyone pulling in the same direction.

“He must believe that he is a complete player,” Pioli said of the player.

“He has the quality but he has to be more decisive in the final phase.

“He must either score a goal or assist his teammates. He does well but there are things missing.”
