PARMA CALCIO DONATED ANOTHER €100,000 TO THE OSPEDALE MAGGIORE

Published on: 06 April 2020

Parma Calcio 1913 have announced that in the last few days it has made a donation of €100,000 to Parma’s Ospedale Maggiore, with the sum being divided equally between the Infectious Diseases Ward and the Intensive Care Ward, as part of the project related to the refunds for Parma vs. SPAL (held behind closed doors on 8 March 2020) and to any future matches without a crowd in the Serie A 2019/20 championship.

In fact, the club has given each season ticket holder the choice between requesting a refund for their season ticket instalment or donating it to support The Strongest Team in Parma, the health team at the Ospedale Maggiore that is strenuously combatting the emergency throughout this period. The Club made sure that the overall sum collected for the cause met the minimum threshold of €100,000.

While the initiative is still ongoing, the Crociati have in fact decided to donate the money to the hospital early, because the emergency is ongoing now and the health facilities in the community need to use the funds promptly.

This is all in addition to the €110,000+ already collected by the ‘The Strongest Team in Parma’ initiative, which was started by the Club and to which sponsors, companies, fan groups and many citizens of Parma have already contributed.

It will still be possible for Parma’s season ticket holders to participate in the initiative until 16 April 2020 by donating their refund for the match between Parma and SPAL; for more information, visit this link.

Almost all of our season ticket holders to date have decided to allocate the sum to the Ospedale Maggiore, but it’s important to clarify that people can legitimately request a direct refund by 16 April.
