Jacob Partey, father of Thomas Partey has said that he is not in a position to decide his son's future amid reports of strong interest from Arsenal.

The Atletico Madrid star is summer target of the Gunners as manager Mikel Arteta believes he can play an important role in his project.

Already, Arsenal have had two bids - a player plus cash - rejected by the Spanish club, who insist they will not allow him leave for anything less than his release clause.

Partey's release clause is 50 million euros, with three years remaining on his current contract.

"Partey is grown enough, he is the vice-captain for the Black Stars, so I expect him to take the best decision," he told Koforidua based Bryt FM in an interview.

"I know a lot of clubs want to sign him but he should know what is best. He is now my father and I know that his decision will be the best"

"For now, I cannot decide for him but I pray God leads him in whatever he does," he said.

Partey is a key player for Atletico Madrid and they will be counting on him this season should he stay at the club.
