Patrick Twumasi: Maccabi Netanya turn down Hapoel Be'er Sheva offer for striker

Published on: 08 September 2022

Maccabi Netanya reportedly turned down a transfer offer to sell key striker Patrick Twumasi to fellow Israeli club Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva made cash plus player bid, but Maccabi Netanya are not interested in selling Twumasi.

"Twumasi is not leaving Maccabi Netanya, despite interest," a team official said.

Twumasi joined Maccabi Netanya on a free transfer in February of this year, quickly establishing himself as a regular.

He has seven goals in 18 appearances for Maccabi, and they are desperate to keep him despite strong competition from other clubs.

The current contract of the 28-year-old will expire in June 2023, and Hapoel Be'er Sheva are expected to make another move in January.

Meanwhile, Maccabi Netanya have the option to renew the contract for another year.
